New in BatchCard: Gift Card Reports, Bulk Resend, and Printable Cards

Last week we shipped Klaviyo, Shopify Flow, and reminders: features about getting gift cards out the door and keeping them from being forgotten. This release is about everything that happens around the cards. What does your program owe? What do you do when a batch of emails goes sideways? And what about the merchants whose gift cards need to exist on paper, not just in an inbox?

Three new features answer those questions: gift card reports that put your outstanding balance on one page, bulk resend that re-delivers a whole batch in one click, and printable gift cards that turn any batch into a print-ready PDF with QR codes that scan at Shopify POS. There is also a new Brand settings section that makes your logo and accent color work everywhere, on every plan.

Know what your gift cards owe

Every unspent gift card is money your store owes. Ask most merchants what that number is and the answer involves an export, a pivot table, and a guess. Your accountant asks for it every quarter anyway.

The new Reports page answers in one click. The headline number is your current outstanding balance across every gift card in your store, including cards created in the Shopify admin or by other apps, not just cards BatchCard made. Below it, an issued-versus-redeemed chart shows whether your program is stacking up liability or converting it into sales, over any date range you pick. An expiring-soon list shows which cards are about to lapse.

BatchCard syncs card balances from Shopify once a day and stamps the report with the exact sync time, so you always know how fresh the numbers are. Need them fresher? Click Sync now.

When it is time to hand numbers to your accountant, two CSV exports are ready: a daily summary for the period, and a card-level detail file. Both use masked card numbers and contain no codes or customer details, so they are safe to forward.

Resend a whole batch in one click

A batch of 300 cards goes out. A dozen bounce. Until now, fixing that meant finding the failed cards one by one and resending each. And if a campaign underperformed, there was no way to nudge everyone still sitting on a full card without doing it by hand.

Bulk resend handles both cases with one action. Open the batch, click Resend emails, and pick a scope: Failed and unsent covers the delivery gaps, All unredeemed covers everyone still holding a balance.

The part we care most about: BatchCard refreshes every card's balance from Shopify right before sending, then skips every card that was redeemed, deactivated, expired, or emptied. Nobody gets a "you have a gift card!" email about a card they spent last month. The confirmation shows exactly how many cards will get an email and why the rest are skipped, before anything sends.

Print gift cards that scan at the register

Some gift cards need to be physical. Cards handed out at an event, sold at a retail counter, or tucked into an envelope with a bow on it. Until now, BatchCard's answer was "export the codes and good luck in Canva."

Now any batch downloads as a print-ready PDF. Pick wallet layout for 8 cards per page with cut marks, or certificate layout for a full-page presentation. Choose from three design styles (Band, Stub, and Minimal), on Letter or A4 paper, with the right default picked from your store's country.

Every card carries your logo, your accent color, the full code for manual entry, and a QR code in Shopify's gift card format. Scan it at Shopify POS and the card applies at checkout like a swiped plastic card.

One honest note: the PDF contains live gift card codes, so treat the file like cash. BatchCard streams it straight to your download and never stores a copy, and the download dialog reminds you every time.

One brand, every surface

Reminder emails and printed cards both carry your branding, so branding now lives in its own Settings section instead of being tucked inside Reminders. Set your accent color, your logo, and optionally a second logo for dark backgrounds. Live previews show your reminder email and your printed card side by side, and they update as you save.

The quiet win is contrast handling. BatchCard measures whether your logo actually reads on each surface it lands on. A white logo never disappears into white paper, a dark logo never sinks into your accent color, and when neither logo would be legible, your store name renders in clean text instead. Prefer text everywhere? Choose the Store name option and skip the logo entirely.

Where this leaves BatchCard

The core has not moved: create gift cards in bulk, capture every code, charge flat pricing with zero percentage fees. Around that core, the full loop is now covered. Cards get created in bulk, delivered through Shopify or Klaviyo, resent when delivery fails, reminded before they expire, printed when they need to be physical, and reported on when your accountant comes asking.
