August 2026 -- Batch management update

Added

• Deactivate a whole batch. Deactivate every gift card in a batch in one action from the batch page. BatchCard refreshes balances first, then shows the number of cards and the balance being voided before you confirm. Deactivating is permanent and cannot be undone. Available on the Starter plan and above.
• Change expiration on a whole batch. Set, change, extend, or remove the expiration on every enabled card in a batch you already created, without editing them one at a time. Adding an expiration or shortening one asks you to confirm first. Available on the Pro plan and above.
• Batch archive. Hide a finished batch from your default batch list while its gift cards stay live in Shopify and reminders keep sending. Archiving is reversible at any time, and the Archived filter on the batches page brings archived batches back into view. Available on every plan.
• Per-batch retention windows. Any batch can follow your store default for recipient data retention or pin its own window: Keep indefinitely, 1 day, 7 days, or 30 days. The batch page shows the window in force and where it comes from, like 30 days (batch override) or 7 days (store default). Anonymization is permanent, so shortening a batch's window shows you the count it will anonymize first. Editing a batch's window requires the Starter plan or higher.

August 2026 -- Billing update

Improved

• Moving to a lower paid plan keeps the time you paid for. The change now starts at the beginning of your next billing period, and you keep your current plan's features and card limit until then.
• Pending plan changes are visible. The Plans page shows a scheduled change while one is waiting, including the plan you keep and the date the new one starts.

July 2026 -- Migration update

Added

• Gift card migration. Bring existing gift cards from Square, Toast, Lightspeed, or Clover into Shopify by adding a Code column to your import file. Codes of 8 to 20 letters and numbers carry over intact, so customers keep using the cards they already hold, and a code outside that range is rejected before any card is created and listed in the rejected rows report, so you can re-import that row without its code, let BatchCard create a fresh valid code for it, and tell that customer their new code. Balances import as each card's current remaining value, keeping your gift card liability accurate. Step-by-step export instructions for all four platforms are in the migration guides. Available on the Starter plan and above.

July 2026 -- Retention update

Added

• Recipient data retention. Automatically remove recipient personal data from delivered gift cards after a window you choose: 1, 7, or 30 days. Email and name are replaced with masked values, the personal message is deleted, and card codes and balances stay untouched. Anonymized cards show a labeled badge and an Anonymized At column in CSV exports, resends and reminders skip them automatically, and every purge run is logged. Off by default, with a preview count and confirmation before anything is removed. Available on the Starter plan and above.
• Duration-based expiration. Set batch expiration as a relative duration (5 years, 2 years, 1 year, or a custom length from 1 month to 20 years) instead of picking a calendar date. BatchCard resolves the duration into a fixed date the moment the batch is created, with a live preview of the exact date first. Per-row Expiration Date columns in spreadsheet imports still override the batch setting. Available on the Pro plan and above.

Improved

• Instant batch creation at any size. Creating a batch now returns immediately, even for imports with hundreds of recipients. Recipient matching runs in the background with a live "Resolving recipients" step on the progress page, so large imports no longer stall on submit.
• A test suite guarding every release. Every BatchCard update now passes an automated suite of more than 1,100 tests before it can deploy, locking in the delivery and privacy behaviors described on this page.
• Security hardening. Brand logo fetching now pins its connection to the validated server address, closing a narrow window for address-swap attacks.

Fixed

• Import errors show in the form. A failed spreadsheet import now shows a clear error message on the import form instead of a generic application error page.
• Custom prefixes on import. Imports using long code prefixes or suffixes now size the generated codes correctly instead of failing validation.

July 2026

Added

• Bulk resend. Resend gift card emails to a whole batch in one click. Choose Failed and unsent to fix delivery gaps, or All unredeemed to nudge everyone still holding a balance. BatchCard refreshes balances first and always skips redeemed, deactivated, expired, and empty cards. Available on the Starter plan and above.
• Gift card reports. A new Reports page shows your store-wide outstanding gift card balance, issued-versus-redeemed trends over any date range, and an expiring-soon list, with summary and card-detail CSV exports built for accounting. Covers every gift card in your store, not just cards BatchCard created. Available on the Pro plan and above.
• Printable PDF gift cards. Download any batch as a print-ready PDF: wallet layout with 8 cards per page and cut marks, or one-per-page certificates, in three design styles (Band, Stub, and Minimal) on Letter or A4 paper. Every card carries a QR code that scans at Shopify POS. Available on the Business plan.
• Brand settings. Branding moved into its own Settings section, available on every plan. Set your accent color, logo, and an optional logo for dark backgrounds, with side-by-side live previews of your reminder email and printable card. BatchCard checks contrast automatically so your logo always prints and sends legibly, with your store name in clean text as the fallback. A Store name option skips the logo entirely.
• Klaviyo integration. Connect BatchCard to your Klaviyo account and send one gift card event per card straight into your Klaviyo flows. Choose the delivery channel per batch, so some batches go through Klaviyo and others through Shopify. Available on the Pro plan and above.
• Shopify Flow integration. Create gift cards as a step in any Flow workflow with the Create gift card for customer action, available on the Pro plan and above. You can also start workflows when a batch finishes or a card is created, using the Batch completed and Gift card created triggers.
• Expiration and balance reminders. Remind recipients before a card expires or while a balance sits unredeemed, so fewer gift cards go to waste. BatchCard now tracks card balances daily to know when a reminder is due. Available on the Pro plan and above.
• Redesigned create experience. The dashboard now has one Create gift cards card with three tiles: Manual, From file, and From URL. Drop a spreadsheet (CSV or XLSX) or paste a file URL right on the dashboard and it carries straight into the import wizard.
• Live batch progress. The batch detail page now updates automatically while gift cards are being delivered. No more refreshing to see where things stand.
• Plan-aware quantity field. The manual create form now shows how many cards remain on your monthly plan, so you know your limit before you submit.
• Expiration column notice. If your spreadsheet includes an Expiration Date column on a plan that does not support expiration dates, BatchCard now tells you up front instead of silently skipping it. Expiration dates are available on the Pro plan and above.

Improved

• More reliable email delivery. Gift card emails now send through a durable background system. Deliveries continue through app updates and server restarts, retry automatically on temporary failures, and respect Shopify's rate limits on large batches. No lost or duplicated emails.
• Honest batch status and working retries. Cards that fail during creation are counted accurately, partially completed batches show the correct status, and the Retry button re-creates only the failed cards.

Fixed

• CSV exports in Excel. Exports now open correctly in Excel. Accented characters and special symbols display as intended.
• View in Shopify. The View in Shopify link on the batch page now opens the gift card directly in your Shopify admin.
• Processing-errors report. The report now downloads as a proper CSV or Excel file.
• Column preferences. Column visibility choices on the batch table now persist across visits.

May 2026

Added

• Per-card notes on import. Add a Note column to your spreadsheet to attach a private note to each gift card. Notes are saved on each card in your Shopify admin, shown on the batch detail page, and included in your CSV export. For your team only, never shown to customers. Available on the Pro plan and above.

Fixed

• Scheduled delivery on imports. The delivery date now defaults to tomorrow, and the date you pick is saved correctly. Scheduling a batch for later works as expected.
• Switching to the Import tab. Moving to the Import tab after entering details on the Manual tab now works correctly.
